General Yoga- “Gillian’s classes are an absolute tonic after a stressful day or week, I love the fluidity of the yoga movements in her classes and Gillian has her own unique style of teaching which is both fun and nurturing, I love my weekly class and hate when I have to miss it and always feel great afterwards”, Fionnuala, Newbridge “I have been attending yoga classes with Gillian for almost 7 years and they are still the highlight of my week. Attending weekly classes has definitely allowed me to incorporate yoga into my day, with good posture, deep breathing and a calmer mind. The benefits of Gillian's class and a home practice have had further impact on my body than just the physical effect, and have allowed me to realise the true impact of yoga on body and mind”, Jennifer, Newbridge “I get a lot out of Gillian’s classes on a couple of different levels, I am calmer, more supple, my energy levels increase and I get my chill fix for the week. Also Gillian is a very open, positive and easy going person and her classes are a good combination of exercise and fun which makes us all at ease in her class and I travel once a week from Laois to attend her class so I guess I am hooked!!” Caroline, Portlaoise Pregnancy Yoga- “I found attending weekly pregnancy yoga classes with Gillian had a very positive effect on the birth of my beautiful baby girl and I used some of the labour positions and movements we did in the class to deliver my baby with no pain relief which I am really proud of! I found the breathing really helpful; and for me it was better than gas & air. Attending Gillian’s classes definitely helped me have a natural and happy birth and I would highly recommend them to all pregnant ladies”, Sadie, Sallins “It’s certain that my pregnancy and delivery of our beautiful daughter would have been very different if I hadn’t had the good fortune to start attending Gillian’s classes! This is more than a pregnancy yoga class - Gillian provides advice on antenatal classes, breastfeeding and useful tips on other alternative medicines useful in pregnancy and labour including massage, aromatherapy, homeopathy and osteopathy. Gillian’s class prepares you not only physically but mentally for childbirth, it teaches you to connect with your baby even before they are born and you gain invaluable skills on how to relax and sleep well. I used the yoga positions and breathing during my labour and it kept me focused and in control – I had advanced so much at home myself that my baby was born less than hour after arriving at the hospital! When you are pregnant lots of people will give you advice on how to look after yourself and prepare for the birth – the only advice I give is to attend Gillian’s classes -I really can’t recommend them enough!! Michelle, Kildare “The deep yoga breathing, especially the golden thread that we practiced in the class got me through the whole birth and I got to 10cm with just deep yoga breathing and gas and air. I usually have a low pain threshold but chose to tune into the breathing and tune out of the pain and I amazed myself and my husband! I feel the yoga also helped me have a quick recovery after the birth and I find the breathing helpful now to help me sleep when I am overtired. I had a wonderful birth experience and my baby is so chilled and I will definitely be going back to Gillian’s classes!” Jean, Newbridge Postnatal Mum & Baby Yoga- I have attended Gillian’s Mum & Baby yoga classes with both my girls and would highly recommend them to any new mum, I found it a great way of getting out and meeting new mums but at the same time starting to get back into shape without the guilt of leaving your new baby. Although the classes are postnatal you can bring your baby and we did stretches and moves around the babies and Gillian encourages you to do the exercises at home and I felt that after a couple of weeks I started to feel like myself again!! Nicola, Naas “I started attending Gillian's Mum & Baby Post-natal Yoga from the time my daughter was five months old. Some mums are there with six or eight week old babies. The yoga is just for the mums but Gillian shows you how to do the movements even if you have to have a crying baby in your arms. Nobody in the class minds a crying baby and babies are regularly fed and changed during the class. I personally found the exercises and movements we did in the class helped relieve tension in my shoulders and back, they are of great benefit and I do them regularly at home. Gillian also gets the class to do exercises that help strengthen the muscles in the lower back, tummy and pelvic floor. She will always highlight to mum's who have had c-sections what they should and should not do. I find I am now, as a result of these classes, much more aware of protecting my back when lifting my daughter. The class is also great for meeting other new mums and exchanging hints and tips from their personal experiences. I would recommend this class to any mum”, Edel, Athy “I have attended all of Gillian’s classes over the years and really enjoyed them all, one of my favourite classes was the mum & baby classes which I went to when by baby boy was 6 weeks old right up to 11months. For me it was a great way of getting out of the house and meeting other mums and I found there are a lot of classes out there specifically for babies but this one was for both of us”, Kim, Kill, Co.Kildare Booking inquiries here. |
