Yoga Nurture was founded by Gillian Murdiff. Gillian trained with the IYA (Irish Yoga Association) for 4 years in classical 'Hatha Yoga' and followed on with a 2 year course in the UK with 'Dru Yoga'. Dru Yoga is a fluid and dynamic type of yoga which releases tension in a gentle yet powerful way. It is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness and it is one of the styles which is integrated into all of the classes at Yoga Nurture. "During my pregnancy I was drawn to Pregnancy Yoga and went to Trish Malone at ‘Yoga Moms' in Leixlip and loved the amazing benefits this type of Yoga offered. I felt prepared both physically and emotionally for both labour and motherhood and I knew I had to share this feeling with others, so I trained with ‘Birthlight’ in Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga. It is very rewarding to see the effects which Pregnancy and Mum & Baby Yoga has on not only new mums but on their newborn babies too". "I also trained in the UK with ‘Yoga Bugs’ which is a fun type of yoga suitable for children from 3-12years and have taught classes at Joeys Playcentre in Naas and do regular Yoga adventures with my daughter Sofie and her friends. It gives children a great understanding on how to be creative and have fun but also how to treat people with respect & kindness. It gives them the tools and confidence to be strong individuals from an early age. I have also completed a 2 year Meditation Teacher Training course and I am incorporating elements into all of my classes". -Gillian Murdiff, founder of Yoga Nurture. Contact Gillian. |
